A stunning detailed study of Marcel Breuer's projects and philosophy that surveys his work from 1920-1955. The book chapters outline a philosophy that describe Stairs, Fireplaces, Furniture and Sunshades as 'Forms in Space'. Extensive commentary is provided by Breuer and illustrates examples of his furniture in wood, tubular-steel and aluminium. The book provides building plans for Black Mountain College and UNESCO Paris. There are also illustrations of Breuer's contributions to the Bauhaus together with incredible interior photography throughout. Editing and notes by Peter Blake. Book and cover design by Alexey Brodovitch.
